The Aledo Independent School District (Aledo ISD) consists of seven schools. Coder Elementary serves students ages Pre-Kindergarten through 4th grades. Vandagriff Elementary and Stuard Elementary each serve Kindergarten through 4th grades. McAnnally Intermediate is for students in 5th and 6th grades. After this, students attend AledoMiddle School for 7th and 8th grades before attending 9th through 12th grades at AledoHigh School.
Alternatively, select students may attend classes at the AledoLearningCenter which serves students in grades 1-12.
At Coder Elementary, classes are slightly larger than the state average of 19 students in kindergarten (with 22 students), and 2nd grade (with 20 students), slightly smaller than the state average of 19 students in grades 1 and 4 with 18 students each and at the state average of 19 students in grade 3. The school has achieved commended performance ratings in language arts, mathematics and writing.
At Vandagriff Elementary, many of the class sizes are larger than the state average of 19, ranging 20-22 students per class with the exception of kindergarten which only has 18. It has also earned commended performance ratings in language arts, mathematics and writing.
Stuard Elementary has an average of 18 students in Kindergarten and 1st grade, with 21-22 in grades 2-4. It has also earned commended performance ratings in language arts, mathematics and writing.
Aledo ISD third and fourth graders greatly surpassed state averages on standardized tests in reading, math and writing (fourth graders only).
McAnnally Intermediate class sizes are at or below state averages. It has earned commended performance rating for language arts, math and science as well as gold performance in attendance. Students surpassed state averages in language arts, math and science (fifth graders) in their performance on state administered standardized tests.
Aledo Middle School class sizes are larger than state averages in English and math (23 and 24 students respectively as compared to the state average of 20 each) while foreign language, science and social science classes are smaller than state averages at 19, 20 and 21 respectively as compared to 21, 22 and 23, also respectively.
Aledo High School class sizes are consistently larger than state averages by 3-5 students per class. Ninth graders performed well above state averages in math and reading. Tenth and eleventh graders performed much better than state averages in science, language arts, and math.
Students at Aledo High School have earned a commendation for social studies. Aledo High School is also recognized for its Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate achievements as well as SAT and ACT scores. Students at AHS have been deemed “Higher Education Ready” by the Texas Success Initiative in both Math and Language Arts.
Classes at the AledoLearningCenter tend to be much larger than state averages.

Patricia Dean Boswell McCall Elementary School, the newest addition to the Aledo Independent School District and Aledo ISD's first school north of Interstate 20 is located in Willow Park just off of Scenic Drive extended east (east of Tackett Pharmacy). Progress continues with much of the brick work taking shape.
The 87,000 square foot structure is design by VLK Architects and will feature many exterior windows. The design consist of 6 wing structures off the main building structure –a wing for each grade Kindergarten thru Grade 5.
When complete the school should have up to 750 students and may be attended primarily by those students living in homes north of Interstate 20 including neighborhoods in Willow Park to Covered Bridge.
Estimated cost is about $13 million and the General Contractor is Buford-Thompson and is set to Open Fall 2008
