Fort Worth, Texas is the county seat of Tarrant County in North Central Texas.Located approximately 30 miles from Dallas on the western border of the DFW metroplex, Fort Worth is also roughly 250 miles from the Gulf of Mexico.

The climate is considered humid subtropical, characterized by long warm seasons (an approximate 249 days annually) and shorter, milder winters with sudden, short-lived bouts of extreme cold. The first freeze is generally in late November and the last freeze is typically mid March.
